1	Educate yourself Learn about the issues in the Resources for You section of this site – then, decide which issues you are most passionate about.

3	Find a charity Get involved by finding Ways to Give, or learn more about what Other Charities are doing.
4	Volunteer your time Contact your local Chamber of Commerce or your church, to find out what volunteer needs and opportunities are in your own community.
5	Involve your community Engage your neighbors and/or your church by planning events that benefit the poor. Read tips on how to plan an event.
6	Talk to a local newspaper, radio, or TV station Learn how you can get media coverage for your events, or how to write a letter to the editor of your local paper.
7	Send a message to Congress Send a message to your representatives in Congress about an issue you care about. It’s easier than you think!
8	Engage your social networks Use your blog, MySpace page, or Facebook profile to inform your friends about issues that are close to your heart. Invite them to join you in advocating on behalf of the poor.
9	Get your children involved Read age-appropriate tips on how to engage your children in making a difference for the poor around the world.
